If you’re wondering about why Kansas came out so much later after Mississippi it’s because I’m working on 2 songs at the same time. With Kansas out of the way I can now focus all my attention to making my next song as best as it can be.
Classical and occasionally electronic composer who also made a song for every state once.

Normally I wouldn’t make news posts about my songs’ popularity, but this means a lot to me. Thank you all for enjoying my songs! While I do have a more popular song on my old account, that was a one-off; this time, I worked hard to get 100+ listens and 5 votes on Arizona, with a 4.65/5 star rating. Illinois, my most recent song, has only 33, but that means about 20 people are followers, since I get 20 in 2 days or so. That’s the biggest following I’ve had yet ever: thank you all again!

Back in January I would make a song at least twice a week. This has since slowed to twice a month almost, and a lot of it has to do with personal life. My family recently found out I made music, and so I’ve been trying to use them to improve my songs, which worked, but it means they all take longer than they used to. Also, I wouldn’t call it a lack of inspiration for new melodies I can adapt into songs, more so an artist’s creative block that you hear people talking about sometimes, but I have another song in the works at this point, so expect that in the coming days.

This is something I feel like I need to address. I don’t want to pay another 3 dollars to change my name to 51Steaks, plus that doesn’t have a nice ring to it. As a result, in the event that Tom Cooper succeeds in making DC a state, I will have to ignore it and make a “bonus song” at the end of my 50 songs instead. 50 is such a nice number of states, I’ll miss it. Then again a million Americans don’t have representation which sucks.

I, for multiple reasons, have changed my name and branding to the 50 states series. The major reasons for this are:

I have made songs for only 6 of the 50 states so far, meaning I have 44 to go. I knew this was a big undertaking and could potentially stress me out, so what I’ve done is began to make the song first and then assign a state to it post production, instead of looking at the state and saying “let’s make a song for that” because frankly, who can make a song on Wyoming and South Dakota, and differentiates the latter with North Dakota... it’s impossible. So far, however, I think I’ve done a pretty good job at assigning the states to the songs, such that it makes sense. Ohio is a state I feel conflicted about, and that is reflected in the song. California is the golden state, hence the song style. Michigan is depressing, and Massachusetts should be happy and cheerful with the residents’ weird accents. I will admit, it does feel like I’m writing news posts for nobody at the moment but hopefully that’ll change in the future.

I normally wouldn’t write news posts for literally every one of my songs given that I have 0 actual audience yet but here we are. California was born out of frustration for trying to use 7/4 that doesn’t completely copy Kevin Macleod; it’s a song on par with Michigan. It’s unique in its chords; there are two within the entire song but the immense delay placed on them makes it not repetitive. It’s an interesting new technique I discovered while making the song. The melody itself is bland and boring IMO but who cares, I love that background chord progression.

With the Missouri series concluded once and for all, it’s time for a brand new original track. A weird idea formed in my head that I should make a song for each and every state, it sounds insane but not impossible; Missouri and Arkansas are already done. Anyways, my next track I think will be the best track of mine yet, it’s almost finished and will be uploaded tomorrow so stay tuned.
