Concerning New Mexico

Posted by 50Steaks - July 21st, 2021

Due to two unexpected reviews by @GRMusic and @Tangeroni stating that New Mexico doesn’t even sound Mexican and instead sounds European, I have made the executive and rare decision to rename and rebrand the track post publishing. The state I have chosen is Idaho, because of its potato industry reminding me of distinctly Ireland. Thank you two for your input, I need to go find some more concrete inspiration for the real New Mexico track when I do get around to making it.

Alright! Can't wait to hear the new New Mexico.

Me neither. Honestly not sure what I could possibly do for it, but maybe something by Sarasate given that he’s a big childhood figure of mine?

Main goal is to make it sound even mildly Mexican at least by any means necessary. Let’s hope I succeed next time, for a while I was debating just taking down the first New Mexico entirely.

Well, currently Mexican music is very influenced by Spain, given after the invasion.
So it usually looks like Europe haha
But it would be great to hear something Mexican

Yeah I heard the Spanish were absolutely awful colonial rulers that exploited the land without any regard for the local economy and society, leading to mass death and two centuries of political turmoil (1800s and even 1900s to an extent). I didn’t want that song to bring reminders of that by sounding and referring to the Spanish since I didn’t want to bring bad vibes, so that is another reason I chose to rename it.
