You know, there is nothing wrong with just doing remixes for a while (some might argue that every art is a remix in some form or another). Don't stress too much, let the inspiration come to you, maybe even get a little bothered and some idea might come to you. Good producing stuff out there!

Thanks for your kind words. But I do want to balance out the remixes with original material and it feels like I’m in a bit of a slump when it comes to that. I’ve been planning an epic grand return to electronic music for a while now but anything I put down doesn’t meet my standards. It’s a very cliche thing I know, but you don’t really know what it’s like until you’ve experienced it yourself as an artist.

Eh, don't worry about it. Coming up with melodies and chords is easy. With the way you're doing remixes, you're basically going through the same creative process. Dw you'll easily still be able to create something new.

Making orchestral music is a trap, it's hard to go back to any other genre once you get a proper taste of it xd. I just feel I can be more creative with instrumentation and whatnot when I'm doing orchestral music, which is why I like making it more.

Yeah that’s fair. I have not been able to return to electronic music fully ever since I made warbird. I also agree that making orchestral music makes it easier to be dissonant and to be more interesting harmonically as well.
